Lucy Letby Netflix Documentary
It has been revealed that Netflix and ITN are working together to produce a documentary about Lucy Letby that will include specialists who contest her murder conviction.
According to insiders who spoke to The Mirror, producers have reached out to a “string of experts” who think Letby might not be guilty, including Richard Gill, who has referred to her conviction as a “major miscarriage of justice.” Producers have asked for their participation in the TV show.
Letby, 34, was found guilty of six counts of attempted murder and murder at the Countess of Chester Hospital last summer. After a retrial, he was found guilty of a second attempted murder last month. After being found guilty at Manchester Crown Court, she was given fifteen full life orders.
The security of the evidence that the prosecution used to convict the former neonatal nurse, however, has come under scrutiny, and last week, a group of 19 nurses wrote to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer pleading with him to initiate a “full forensic review” of the case.
Lucy Letby sympathetic documentary on Channel 5
The parents of kids killed by serial murderer nurse Lucy Letby expressed their shock yesterday over reports that a forthcoming Channel 5 show might address doubts over her guilt.
After a jury found the “callous” 34-year-old guilty of trying to kill a preterm infant at the Countess of Chester Hospital, she was handed another whole-life sentence last week.
After being found guilty in August of killing seven babies and attempting to kill six more between June 2015 and June 2016, she was already facing the death penalty.
However, a letter distributed before Letby’s second trial in Manchester last week reveals that Channel 5 is producing a documentary with activists who contend Letby is the victim of a miscarriage of justice.
It says this: ‘We are currently working on a documentary that will detail Lucy Letby’s case and address the latest concerns about the validity of the conviction.
“We are talking to a number of experts, such as psychologists, neonatologists, and statisticians.”
